How do I add an investor to my Enterprise Account?

You can add an investor (e.g. a group member, Limited Partner, or client) to your Enterprise account in Investor Management.

To add a single investor:

  • Select the tab for Add Investors.
  • Enter the Email Address.
  • Enter the First (Given) Name
  • Enter the Last (Family) or Organization Name, if investing under a name other than an individual.
  • Click the button to "Add Investor".

Note that if the investor you are adding invests under multiple names (such as an entity, family member, trust, or IRA), for which you will track investments, you can select the tab for Investment Accounts to set up investment accounts in those names.

Plus, you can add additional information and notes about an investor after his/her profile is set up.

To add multiple investors:

  • Select the tab for Add Investors.
  • Click the text to Import Multiple Investors.
  • Download the spreadsheet and follow the instructions provided.
  • Note: there is a 150 row limit per import. If you have more than 150 investors in your group you will need to upload multiple spreadsheets.

Note about adding Fund Investors to multiple funds

* If you administer a fund account and need to add investors to multiple funds, you need to select the fund from the drop-down selector and add the investors to each specific fund. Note that when using the investor template, any fields you enter or leave blank will overwrite what's already recorded in the system for those fields in the investor's profile. You can export the investor data from Investor Management, or ask your primary account holder to do so for the entire account, so you know exactly what's already in the system, since you can otherwise only see the investor data for those investors in the funds to which you've been granted administrative access. You can also add investors manually simply by entering their email address. As long as it matches what's already in the system, you do not need to enter their name or any other fields, when adding an existing investor manually to a new fund.

Note when adding Investment Accounts:

* Do not use special characters, such as & ( ) " ', in the name of investment accounts.

* To add more than one investment account for an investor, separate the account names with a semi-colon in the spreadsheet. The first one listed will become the default account. If no investment account is specified, then a default account will be created based on the first and last names of the investor.

* If you are adding an investment account to an existing investor's account, be sure to re-enter the email address and any other investor information exactly as you want them to appear in the system (e.g. First Name, Last Name, Phone Numbers, Address, Notes). All information associated with that particular investor will be overwritten upon import, with the exception of existing investment accounts.

* To access a list of all your investors' investment accounts, go to the Investment Accounts tab found in Investor Management. There you can add, edit or delete investment accounts and set defaults to which future transactions will be directed.

* To add investment accounts to your overall group account (such as for the name of a fund, SPV or cohort), learn how to add an investment account through Account Management
