How do I activate Investor Accounts in an Enterprise Account?

It's easy and beneficial to activate investor accounts, however, before you activate investor accounts, you may want to check out these resources depending on your account type:

Group Account - Best practices for group admins to onboard investors and things to check prior to activating a group investor.

Fund Account - Best practices for fund admins to onboard investors and things to check prior to activating a fund investor.

To activate Investor Accounts, follow these simple steps:

  • Go to Investor Management.
  • Select the investor whose account you’d like to activate and click the button to Customize activation email or select multiple or all investors and click the button at the bottom of the page to Customize activation login instructions.
  • Review and edit the From line, Subject line and Message text as desired, being sure to preserve the Login Instructions and default url text that must remain in the message body in order for your investors to access their accounts. Included in the default text is a link to a User Guide for Investors of Enterprise Accounts, so that they can get up to speed on how to use Seraf and its features.
  • Click “Send”.

The next time you go to the Investor Management page, you'll see a record of the last time each investor logged into his/her account. If it shows that they have never logged in, you can resend instructions to follow up.

Note that investors on Seraf's Enterprise Fund platform will be granted access to all funds in which they are investors when their account is activated.

Also note that the system does not save a copy of the activation email sent or the date sent, so you may want to keep a record of it on your own for reference.
