Don’t panic - some companies do not distribute Share Certificates, but rather hold them with their stock ledger. However, it is a good idea to check with the company to confirm you have not lost a certificate that has been sent out. If you have, you will need to go through the lost certificate paperwork process and obtain a replacement. It is best to do that right away rather than in the middle of an exit transaction down the road when the lawyers are different, etc. It is also a good idea to keep a scanned copy of each of your stock certificates in the Documents section of your Seraf account, as that copy can be helpful to refer to, or if you lose the original.
