How do I view investments made in another currency in my Seraf account?

Enterprise customers who have subscribed to Seraf's Currency module, can record investments in one currency and see them consolidated in the default currency for the account. This gives a complete picture of the value of your entire portfolio and enables you to report out in one currency while still tracking the details of the original investment.

Once you have recorded an investment in a currency other than your default currency, you will see the investment summarized on the Investment tab of the company or investment fund record. You can see the investment currency amounts as well as the value converted into your default currency.

Your Dashboard will have a breakdown of your holdings by currency, showing the # of companies / funds, the value, basis, and gain or loss in each currency in the portfolio. This is also shown on the Key Metrics tab of Portfolio Analysis.

Your Current Investments tab will include a column for Currency so you can quickly identify which currency each investment was originally recorded in. The amounts, however, will be converted to your default currency in order to have all investments consolidated. For example, if your default currency is $USD and you make an investment in Euros, you can record the investment in Euros, and the values will be converted into $USD, so that you can see the value of all your holdings in the same currency.

Exits & Returns will show the amount in the default currency. You can always export your transactions to see the full detail of the original entries in the investment / local currency.

Furthermore, when using the Custom Analysis tab in Portfolio Analysis, you can filter for investments in a specific currency. You'll find the Currency filter under the Location category.

You can also add and view KPIs in the same currency as the company to compare actual to target performance over time.
