How do I change the security type of a round?

You can change the security type of a round only if it does not have any transactions connected to it. Learn how to edit a round.

However, if a round for which you'd like to change the security type has transactions tied to it (go to the Transactions tab to see), follow these steps to go about modifying the security type of your investment: 

• Enter a new round with the appropriate security type. 
• Edit each transaction, previously recorded, by replacing the old round with the new one and selecting the corresponding transaction type and fields. Or, add new transactions to the newly created round.
• Delete any old data.

This may come in handy if you previously recorded an investment as a convertible note round when it really was a SAFE or a Preferred Stock round as Common Stock, among many other possibilities.
